Identifying the Subjects of Photos

We have had a very encouraging response to the publication of these two photographs on our web site and in the local newspaper. Many people have contacted us with information about those involved.  The following is a collation of the various responses. There are still some unidentified faces and some disagreement as to who some of them were, so we are always happy to hear more suggestions. I have numbered all the individuals to make referring to them easier.

  2. Hello,

I can confirm that number 13 in the Deb picture is my grandma, Maree Clancy! Looking gorgeous as always.

She went on to have six children, lots of grandchildren and great grand children. She still lives in Victoria and we all love her lots.

Thank you so much for sharing this photo, great to see her looking so lovely.

  3. Hi Grahame, I was just looking at this site and noticed in the Deb Photo at the top of the page is my Dad (number 6) – it is Anthony Stockdale!
    Many thanks

  5. No 32 in the school photograph is Gerard Clancy, not the yet-to-be born Gavin Clancy.

  7. No. 28 on the St.Joseph’s photo (front row 3rd from the left) is my brother George Pater. The Pater’s used to live at 102 Sydney Street…which was the Bull & Mouth Hotel in days gone by. From memory the Kilmore Progress Association bought the property from my father in 1958 or 1959. As such the Pater family moved to Melbourne and the building was subsequently demolished . Sad really because of the history dating back to 1862. Soon thereafter a Golden Fleece Service Station appeared on the site.
