In 1867 Prince Alfred, the Duke of Edinburgh, set out on a world tour, including visiting most Australian colonies. 

During his stay he was presented with a manuscript listing the oldest Victorian pioneers. This manuscript ran to some 35 pages and contained some interesting names.

The presentation was made by Mr E. Henty, as the oldest surviving victorian colonist.
