Evening meetings with a guest speaker will resume in February. As guest speaker for our February meeting we will be hearing from Suleyman Kor, who will be speaking on the project to reopen Kilmore’s Colmont School (previously the International School) as a primarily Turkish based institution under the auspices of the International Maarif Schools of Australia. The Maarif Schools already have a campus operating in Sydney.

The buildings involved have significant heritage value. The main building fronting White Street  was built by St Patrick’s Parish for the Marist Brothers and opened in 1893, and housed Assumption College prior to its removal to its current location.

The meeting will be held at the Old Post Office at 2 Powlett St on the 4th of February, and will commence at 7:30pm and be followed by supper.
