KHS is currently planning a new batch of blue plaques for local buildings of historic significance. These have been ordered and should be installed soon.
At one point we did encounter an issue with the Mitchell Shire Planning Department. As we were required to submit a separate Planning Application for each plaque, we were initially billed for multiple Planning Application fees, an amount which would have blown the cost of the project out of all feasibility.
We did appeal to Council for a waiver of the fees, and have now received the following correspondence:
“Given Kilmore Historical Society identified as non-profitable organisation, I’ve been given instructions by Manager Planning and Engineering Services to review the applications and waive the applications fees.
I believe all applications has been allocated to me, and hopefully I will be able to review your request by the end of next week.
Regards,
Mykola”
We can only thank Mitchell shire for agreeing to waive these fees.
