Grade 3 at St Joseph’s, 1950’s

This school photograph shows Grade 3 at St Joseph’s, Kilmore. It was taken either in 1957 or 1958. It belongs to Rinie Reynolds (who appears as the blonde girl at the right of the second row, peeping out behind another girl.)

We have tentative identifications for several of the other children.

Perhaps this will stir some memories of locals who attended St Joseph’s at the time?

    Hi Brian,
I have just noticed this photograph. I have a copy of it that was kept by Marie. All of the faces are familiar but they are all a lot younger than me.
Sixth from the left top row with his head cocked to the right is my brother, then Frankie Williams. 100% certainty He was born in 1958 so this must be 1964 in his Grade 1.
First on the left top row is Graham Wright’s little brother.
Fourth from the left top row is Adrian Teveluwe’s little brother.
Middle row in front of Frankie Williams is Peter Quinn’s little brother.
Middle row, second from right end, the blonde girl peaking out, is Adrian Teveluwe’s little sister. It is not Renie Teveluwe who was way older.
Front row, extreme right, I think is Mick Purdon’s little sister.
I have sent this to my brother for him to pick up other names.
Martin (Williams if Brian is not doing this one).

    1. Good work Martin Williams. In the middle row it’s Bernadette McLinden fourth from left and Suzanne McLinden on far right.

Hi Gavin. Thanks for that refinement. I had managed to forget both of them in my first look at the photo. I have since spoken with Ian Wright on the phone. It is him in this 1963 photo. The person second to my left in the 1957 St Joseph’s photo is definitely Graeme Wright. 100%. Ian said that the only Brian Wright in Kilmore was his and Graeme’s uncle, he was a baker, and he was in his twenties.

Ps. Dianne Cummane’s parents were the licencees of the Wallan Hotel if anyone wondered.
